ear Dad,

I got your post card and Valentine today, thank you!  It's great to hear from you. I hope that the golfing was great down there.

eredeth is still working as a waitress. I drive her to work most of the time.

have taken a part time job, 35 hr wk no benefits, at a fabric store as a sales and stock person till I can find a real job. This one pays $8.00 an hour, with no hope of promotion for at least a year. The whole thing is run from the corporate headquarters in Ohio. Our store makes an average of $3000.00 a day selling notions and fabric. The biggest profits are made from selling snaps, buttons, strips of velcro, needles, and other such 'notions'.  There are usually three or four part timers on the floor with one manager who gets benefits, but not much more then us, and with more responsibility, but I can not see what the big deal is about this extra responsibility is ~ other than reading the missives from headquarters as to what's on sale now and what is not; then directing us to what items need to be repriced-tagged and/or moved around. It is good upper body exercise. The people who come in are wonderful and fellow employees and managers are very nice also. I enjoy it.

oug is doing very well. I am very proud of him. He is very good at what he does and takes responsibility. Last night someone had called him because they smelled something funny in their house which had made them feel sick; they thought that it was their oil burner. When he told them that it was after 6 PM, which meant that a house call would cost them twice as much, they asked him to wait till the next morning. He still went to check their burner that night because he said that he couldn't sleep knowing that it could kill them.

hat was some storm that we just had. It might have been two feet of snow if it had been snow and not ice. There was no rain or melting, just ice snow. It compacted on the ground to about six inches thick of solid crunchy ice.

ll is fine here. That's about it for our very thrilling lives here. I am glad that you are back from your trip safe and sound.
